So yesterday night, I went out and explored NYC. I had originally planned on spending the night on the internetz, snuggled on the couch (yes, the people I'm staying with don't have a guest room, but I don't mind since the couch is really comfy), trolling and whatnot. But Shay, my new found friend was nice enough to volunteer to take me out for the night.
No, I'm not describing the whole night. Just the magic moment I won't forget for a long time. Okay, so. He was supposed to take me to Brooklyn Bridge to show me the skyline. But instead, he pumped up the car with some techno music and kept driving. I was curious as to where we were going, but I didn't really care. He said, "I'm waiting for the perfect moment" and I was about to ask "What for?" but just then song climaxed and he said "Look to your right now."

It was the skyline of NYC, beautiful and breathtaking. The lights shimmering in all directions, the buildings majestically blending into the velvet black sky. Blending in and yet standing out. The Empire State building was the main attraction, I couldn't take my eyes off the tower perched in the midst of other spectacular structures. I couldn't say anything. I just sat there, savoring the moment, my mouth gaping at the splendor. Slowly, I let my mind wrap itself around the reality of the situation, and I managed to croak out a weak "It's beautiful."
Because that's what it was. Beautiful, and magic.
