New space for my rants

I'm officially shifting my word vomits to tumblr. This blog will be more ummm sophisticated now. Or, as sophisticated as I can be while writing. Well, atleast that doesn't set the standard too high.

P.S. I just remembered my primary school English teacher hated when I started my sentences with 'Well'. I miss you Mrs. Abbas. <3

At my fingertips...

And sometimes, it hits me out of nowhere, this sense of overwhelming joy and accomplishment and I get excited, hopeful and ready to face the future. And once again, the world feels like my stage, and everything around me like a play just waiting to begin.

The adventures of the bara note

The bara note was resting lazily in the mysterious labyrinth inside an ATM machine. It was dozing peacefully, pretentiously aware of the power and influence of it's existence. Suddenly, the mechanical spins and clicks alarmed the note of the beginning of the next adventure it would face.

Outside the ATM, a silly girl had accidentally hit the 20K on the touch pad instead of the 2k she needed. As she realized her mistake, three baray notes with five slightly chotay notes were pushed smoothly so towards her. Exasperated at her mistake, she tucked the money inside her designer bag and mentally planned out when she would have to visit her bank to deposit all this money that she didn't need at this time.

Weeks went by. The bara note did not see any sunlight. It just experienced a mild gust of chilly winter air whenever the bag was opened. It could smell clothes and shoes nearby. But the silly (now slightly cruel) girl would not spend it!

Finally, the note saw daylight. It could smell chocolate in the air. Yay. It loved chocolate. It didn't love people who touched it with chocolate covered hands though. That was disgusting. It was handed over to the cashier at Pie in the Sky.

The note felt purple neon lights blinding it. What was happening? What? The cashier was saying it wasn't real. How absurd. The note thought. Of course I'm real. The silly girl was defending it bravely, stating over and over that she had received it from an ATM machine and that it could definitely not be fake. The silly (now brave) girl snatched it back from the cashier and started to exit the bakery. But then she turned around. The cashier was saying something. She deposited the bara note back into her bag and withdrew a shiny green card. She would have to get the note checked at the bank later.

The bara note went back into its lazy slumber, but this time it had a more modest air about itself. There was something more powerful and influential in town.

The boss, the burger and the baby

My boss is really scary. I think I've said that earlier. But still. He must be acknowledged in every work related post. He is, very scary indeed. Think Rufus Scrimgeour. He fired someone today. The office was filled with a grim silence, occasionally broken by casual humour related to the incident. It's true. Humour is the best solace. And shield.

I brought a very healthy lunch to the office today. Brown bread sandwich with pastrami chicken slices and a hint of mustard. Yum, no? NO. These guys were ordering burgers and I got... lured in. It's sad because my diet's been going pretty well. I looked decently professional in my work pants and blouse today. Must not become a land whale. Have to resist the enchantingly powerful seduction of ze beef burgher.

Lastly, the baby. Hassam. He's the son of a co worker who works in the journalism department here. Mashallah, he's the cutest and most well behaved kid I've seen. (Except that one kid who was riding with us on the greyhound from Ohio to Pennsylvania. That kid didn't cry even once.) It's amazing to see how this kid was born here, and is spending his most crucial development days here too. I realized this when today, for the very first time, he tried to sit up all my himself and everyone including the mother exclaimed with joy.

This kid is really lucky. Not only does he have superwoman as his mother, but a loving virtual family of professionals who care for him like their own. :')

Toxic

The glee version of this song is now my ringtone. Go ahead. Judge me. Karo karo, mana nai karungi. Jitna judge karna hai karo.

This act of boldness has been inspired by my boss. He has the instrumental version of Chammak Challo as his ringtone. Really brings some zing into the office, it does. Makes me want to abandon work and start doing the double light bulb screw move.

Don't be fooled though. He's really effing intimidating. I'm really scared of him. He likes ripping people apart. Does it very efficiently. If he ever does it to me, I'll probably pee in mah pantz. No, I might actually do that with a single murderous stare. Hmm. I think I need to go pee now.

Either that or icecream. I want icecream.

Yeap it's New York.

I got off Penn Station today on 7th Avenue only to be stopped by an African American homeless guy. Generally, I ignore them as they scare the shit out of me. But this guy actually cheered me up. Seriously, he was extremely funny. And a little crazy. Anyhoo. He said that 'our' women are the most beautiful in the world. He also said that even though he's an ugly guy but he's still the most beautiful guy in the world since he's a New Yorker. Then he apologized for being high. Ha.

Another eventful scene you ask? Okay. A street dancing group. It was exciting. And entertaining. And really fun.

Also, the Hershey's store at Times Square. Pure chocolate heaven. <3

Just another magic moment

So yesterday night, I went out and explored NYC. I had originally planned on spending the night on the internetz, snuggled on the couch (yes, the people I'm staying with don't have a guest room, but I don't mind since the couch is really comfy), trolling and whatnot. But Shay, my new found friend was nice enough to volunteer to take me out for the night.

No, I'm not describing the whole night. Just the magic moment I won't forget for a long time. Okay, so. He was supposed to take me to Brooklyn Bridge to show me the skyline. But instead, he pumped up the car with some techno music and kept driving. I was curious as to where we were going, but I didn't really care. He said, "I'm waiting for the perfect moment" and I was about to ask "What for?" but just then song climaxed and he said "Look to your right now."

...
...
...

It was the skyline of NYC, beautiful and breathtaking. The lights shimmering in all directions, the buildings majestically blending into the velvet black sky. Blending in and yet standing out. The Empire State building was the main attraction, I couldn't take my eyes off the tower perched in the midst of other spectacular structures. I couldn't say anything. I just sat there, savoring the moment, my mouth gaping at the splendor. Slowly, I let my mind wrap itself around the reality of the situation, and I managed to croak out a weak "It's beautiful."

Because that's what it was. Beautiful, and magic.

Shopping.

Yeah, I got two huge overcoats today. They're really warm. Also, I know blog's slow right now but I'm saving up for the updates from Harvaaaaard.

I get tired of songs really quick. Like I listen to a song I like over and over and over and over (you get the point?) and then discard it. It just lays there in my playlist begging to be played but I ignore it. BUT these Imran Khan songs. What to do with my life? I just can't get over them. Even the most hard core Immy Kay fans are over him. (Read MA). But what doo. They still make me high.

The 'Visa Milgaya- Mithai Banto' give away

Hello there. I'm feeling generous. So. Here you go.

People are nicer than they think

I was in the mood for some trolling yesterday, so I typed out this text message:

"PLEASE HELP ME I CANT TURN CAPSLOCK OFF ON MY FONE AND ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS HATE ME NOW BECAUSE THEY THINK IM SHOUTING AT THEM PLZZ HELP"

and sent it to 20 people. Only 3 got that I was kidding, and the rest actually tried to help me. Please keep in mind that most of these people consider themselves very...kamina. But in reality, they are extremely helpful people. Yeah guys, take your badassness and shove it down the toilet. You're all rainbows and butterflies. Ha.

Oh and ILY guise. Esp Loner, who went on Google and searched for the solution.

Humanity does have hope ^_^

Islamabaad is like 2 kewlzz 4 me ^^

I think I was high when I wrote this.

How important are rules for our survival? I mean, what if there were no rules? Why can't we trust humanity on it's own for our survival? Do we need to restrain it? Put it on a leash, in order to keep in humane? If so, then why call it humanity?

If there was no check on you. If you were anonymous. If you could do whatever you wanted without repercussions, what's the worst you would do?

Ask yourself.

What level of humanity would you practice once you were free of the binds of social cautiousness and the hassle of maintaining a public image?

-Cement Mixers

Hello all, especially my followers! You guys are 31 now which is awesome. I know I can't put that achievement on my resume but it still means a lot to me. ^^

Today was Nestle's seminar on Osteoporosis at college. It was pretty informative despite the fact that more than half of the attendees were premed students and we already knew all that shit. Anyhow, it was still pretty useful. Why am I mentioning this here? BECAUSE WE GOT FREE CREAM. Nestle Cream. Two packs. TWO. Free.

And SL won a couple of Nesvita glasses for answering a quiz question which was pretty kickass, since she wanted them so bad. Congrats baby. Even though you think my sentences are too long.

Another eventful (maybe?) thing. I burnt my gown. A huge hole in my sleeve. I'll have to get a new one now. =__=

CEMENT MIXERS.

I realized today how awesome they are. They are huge things. Which mix cement for you. Khud sey hi. AND you can ride in them at the same time.

It doesn't end here. I would please like you to give me one minute of your time. Now think. A transparent cement mixer. A bottle of instant coffee. Lots of milk. Sugar. Cream. Mix.

If your mind is blown, you officially have an awesome imagination. If not, you belong to the species from which SL and MS take their genes. Meh.

Also, a shout out to SJ, the coolest and most epic chem lab partner. With a guy who has rum AND hash in his name.

AJ+MA you were missed.

I should stop now.

EFF-EM-EL

I've been having a busy week. Eventful. I'm going to list stuff now, don't feel like writing in a paragraph.

1. At college yesterday my cellphone slipped from my pocket and fell in the commode. :(
2. Some really big events are in process for which I found potential sponsors too. :D
3. MA won't show her face at college. :(
4. SL won't stop effing critisizing every effing move I make. -__-
5. I haven't bonded with my girls for a long long time. :(

OH. This is turning out to be a whiny post. So what. Mera blog hai. Mein karungi whine. Whine, whine, whine. Okay I'm done.

6. I ate nihari at a proper hotel (read 'hottal'). Delicious. I took pictures but, they were in my phone. (refer to point 1)
7. I travelled in a public bus. Starline zindabad.
8. FREE FOOD. Yeah there was this quiz at college after which they gave the guests and organizing committee free food. Being in the council has it's perks. Very tasty perks. ^^

I guess I'm just pmsing. The week wasn't that bad. See, blogging makes me feel better.

I would've written more but I think I'm just rant-
Hey I was sayi-
What the he-
KYA MASL-
STOP CUTTING M-

Yeah thats what I feel like at college aj kal. We're getting pretty impatient and mean with each other, I've noticed. Gotta work on that. Letting the other person complete their sentences.

Conclusion, conclusion. Everyone who reads this, please pray for my lovely friend SS's grandpa. He's in the hospital and your prayers would really mean a lot to her, and to me. Thanks :)

Yawn. I'm going to go eat a cupcake now.

PaperCut

He flipped through my pages,
But he couldn't read me.

I gave him a papercut.

FML? Maybe.

Have you ever been in a situation where you're just a silent spectator, but somehow you get pulled in and if you're not too careful you may get sucked into this big black hole and just screw up a part of your life?

I'm in one and it may not be a big deal right now but the worst case scenario doesn't spell out too good for me. My head hurts. Ouch. But I guess that's just cause of the heat. Dramaayyy Queens.

I'm writing a lot of shitty random stuff these days. Gotta collect my thoughts somehow.

On the brighter side of things, I was awesome (if I may say so myself) at hosting the program at college today. Full burger accent scene awnzzz. ^^
